Place des CanotiersAquatic Construction
Architectural Fountain in Quebec
Inspired by 19th century wooden docks, place des Canotiers is taking back ownership of the historicity of the site, formerly a disembarkation point for passengers. A veil of mist is sprayed from 74 fountain slabs with eight nozzles, activated intermittently to cool and energize this fun and historically significant public square. The 50 in-ground jets bring to life this urban space along the docks of the St. Lawrence River.
